Hydrophone Calibration with Temperature
GeoSpectrum’s high-speed hydrophone calibrator can be equipped to measure voltage sensitivity and capacitance as a function of temperature. In the standard form of the equipment, the operator places the calibration chamber within a temperature-controlled cabinet. After the temperature of the calibration chamber has reached the new temperature, the operator activates the calibration software. Optionally, the computer can control the temperature chamber and calibrate the hydrophones at temperatures specified by the operator.

Typical graphs of capacitance and voltage sensitivity as a function of temperature
Calibrations as a function of temperature can be combined with calibrations as a function of static pressure and signal amplitude. Distortion can be measured at any combination of temperature, depth, and signal amplitude.
